Our Beliefs

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever, (Hebrews 13:8 NKJV). While He was on earth Jesus healed the sick, the poor in spirit, He cast out demons and performed many miracles. In John 14:12, Jesus says, "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. 13And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14If you ask[a] anything in My name, I will do it."
In Mark 9:23, Jesus says, "If you can believe,[a] all things are possible to him who believes." We believe that "we are His workmanship (Poiema), created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."
Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV)

Our Mission

To love God and love others.
37Jesus said to him, "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind."38This is the first and great commandment. 39And the second is like it: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." 40On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets. Matthew 22:37-40 (NKJV)

Isaiah 61:1-4 exemplifies our mission:
1The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; 2To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, 3To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified. 4And they shall rebuild the old ruins, They shall raise up the former desolations, And they shall repair the ruined cities, The desolations of many generations.

Our Name

Our name, Poiema Healing Rooms, comes from the scripture Ephesians 2:10, "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." Poiema means "workmanship". *It comes from the verb poieo, "to make". (Compare "poem" and "poetry".) The word signifies that which is manufactured, a product, a design produced by an artisan. Poiema emphasizes God as the Master Designer, the universe as His creation (Romans 1:20), and the redeemed believer as His new creation (Ephesians 2:10). Before conversion our lives had no rhyme or reason. Conversion brought us balance, symmetry, and order. We are God’s poem, His work of art. (*From the Spirit-Filled Life Bible.)
